It was perfect! It fit everything we needed and ended up being under the 50-pound limit with the airlines. It's big! It definitely held everything he needed to take - we didn't but his suit and dress clothes in it because we took them on hangars, but other than that it fit everything! As for sturdiness I can't say because he's only used it once but it looks to be sturdy enough. Can't beat it for the price!
